Rebecca Cooney and Andrew Katz of MS Liberation Group met with Dr. Keon to discuss the recent research relating to CCSVI.  We were joined on the phone by Dr.Mark Haacke, who explained some of the subtleties of the research and the incredible findings that are being made.   Dr. Haacke reiterated the need for more research in establishing a causal relationship between MS and CCSVI.  However, he also stated that there is an undisputed correlation between CCSVI and people who have MS and that the vascular abnormalities that are being seen are detrimental to peoples health, whether they have MS or not.

The MRI situation in Canada was also discussed.  Dr. Keon was very well aware that Canada is ranked 16th out of all OECD countries and that the wait times are unacceptable.  He assured us that if the science supports Zamboni’s findings, the government will make the testing available.

Dr. Keon was very gracious and kind to have given us so much of his time.  Thank you Dr. Keon on behalf of all the people with MS and their families, who also suffer so much hardship.
